Welcome to The Utilities Hub & Hello from Me

Welcome to The Utilities Hub and thank you for being here.

This page is a quick introduction to what The Utilities Hub is all about, why it was created, and what you can expect from it going forward. The utilities sector is a huge industry that keeps the country running, yet information, opportunities, and connections within it are often scattered or difficult to access.

The Utilities Hub was built to change that. The goal is simple: create a place where people working in or looking to enter the utilities industry can find opportunities, insights, and useful resources all in one place.

Below, I’ll also introduce myself and share a bit about why I started this project.

Hello from Me

Oliver Budd

Founder & Managing Director

My name is Oliver, and I’m the founder of The Utilities Hub. I started this platform because I saw first-hand how important the utilities sector is, yet how fragmented the information around it can be. The industry is responsible for keeping essential services running across the country, from energy and water to telecoms and infrastructure, and behind all of that is a huge workforce of skilled people who keep everything moving. Despite the scale and importance of the sector, opportunities, insights, and useful information are often scattered across different places, making it harder than it should be for people to find their way into the industry or progress within it.

That’s where the idea for The Utilities Hub came from. I wanted to build something simple but useful, a central place where people could find job opportunities, discover training providers, read / learn about the industry, and stay connected to what’s happening in the utilities world. The goal isn’t just to share information, but to help create a more connected and accessible sector for everyone involved.

I’m still at the early stages of building The Utilities Hub, but the vision is long term. Over time, I want it to grow into a platform that genuinely supports people across the utilities industry, whether that’s someone looking to start their first role, someone wanting to progress their career, or companies looking to connect with the right people. If you’re here reading this, you’re already part of that journey, and I greatly appreciate you being here.

What You’ll Find on The Utilities Hub

Job Opportunities

The Utilities Hub brings together job opportunities from across the utilities sector to make them easier to find in one place. Instead of searching across multiple platforms, you’ll be able to stay updated on relevant roles and new opportunities as they become available.

Training & Qualifications

You’ll also find information on training providers and courses that help people gain the skills needed to enter or progress within the utilities industry. From entry-level training to specialist qualifications, the aim is to make pathways into the sector clearer and more accessible.

Recruitment Support

The platform will also share recruitment opportunities and help connect candidates with employers operating within the utilities sector. The aim is to make it easier for companies to find the right people and for individuals to discover roles that match their skills and ambitions.

Career Guidance

Alongside jobs and training, The Utilities Hub will provide career guidance for those looking to enter or progress within the utilities industry. This may include advice on getting started in the sector, understanding different roles, and building a long-term career within utilities.
